Tanhaji: The Unsung Hero races in box office

Mumbai/IBNS: Ajay Devgn starrer Tanhaji: The Unsung Hero is maintaining its pace at the Indian box office.

The film, which went off to a solid start, has collected Rs. 190.43 crore till Wednesday. It was released along with Deepika Padukone starrer Chhapaak on Jan 10.

Business analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted the actual figures of the collection. He tweeted, "#Tanhaji is terrific on weekdays... Eyes ₹ 75 cr+ biz in *Week 2* - a remarkable feat... Historic in #Maharashtra... Inches closer to ₹ 200 cr... [Week 2] Fri 10.06 cr, Sat 16.36 cr, Sun 22.12 cr, Mon 8.17 cr, Tue 7.72 cr, Wed 7.09 cr. Total: ₹ 190.43 cr. #India biz."

Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior is a biographical period and action film set in the 17th century which revolves around the battle of Sinhagad. The film is based on the life of Tanaji Malusare, the military leader of Chatrapati Shivaji. 

Apart from Ajay, the film stars Saif Ali Khan, Kajol, Pankaj Tripathi, Jagapathi Babu, and Sharad Kelkar in diverse roles.

Director Om Raut's Tanhaji is the fourth film in which Ajay and Saif were seen sharing screen space together. Earlier they were seen in Kachhe Dhaage, Omkara and LOC: Kargil.
