Los Angeles/IBNS: Timothée Chalamet edged out the likes of Leonardo DiCaprio and George Clooney to win the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy at the ceremony held in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, California.

Chalamet clinched the prestigious honour for his performance in Marty Supreme at the 83rd edition of the Golden Globe Awards.

In his acceptance speech, the 30-year-old actor reflected on the values instilled in him by his family. “My dad instilled in me a spirit of gratitude growing up—always be grateful for what you have,” Chalamet said.

He added, “It’s allowed me to leave this ceremony in the past empty-handed, my head held high, grateful just to be here. But I’d be lying if I didn’t say those moments make this one that much sweeter.”

Chalamet concluded his speech by thanking his parents and his girlfriend, Kylie Jenner.

The actor was also seen sharing a PDA moment with Jenner during the ceremony, as the couple—who skipped posing together on the red carpet—were caught on camera smiling, chatting and sharing a kiss. The moments quickly went viral on social media.

Marty Supreme is a sports-drama film that centres on the rise of a gifted but unconventional athlete chasing greatness against overwhelming odds. Set in a high-pressure competitive world, the film explores ambition, ego and the personal sacrifices required to achieve excellence.

Led by Chalamet in the title role, Marty Supreme blends intense competition with an intimate character study, charting the emotional highs and lows of a young prodigy determined to prove himself on the biggest stage. The film has been widely praised for its grounded storytelling and Chalamet’s transformative performance.
