Your judgement is clouded with frustration: Anupam tells Naseeruddin on being called 'clown'

Mumbai/IBNS: The war of words between actors reached a new height with Anupam Kher deciding to respond to remarks made about him by his colleague from the industry, Naseeruddin Shah.

Shah had in an interview to The Wire called Kher a ‘clown’ and a ‘sycophant’, who should not be taken seriously.

In response, Kher posted a video on Twitter where he said he is thankful to Shah for such "compliments" bestowed on him.

"My message to Janaab Naseeruddin Shah is that I heard your interview where you called me a clown, sycophant and that these are in my blood and I should not be taken seriously. But the reality is I don't take you seriously," Kher said in his video message.

He said: "You have often criticised me but I never bad mouthed or disrespected you. However, today I want to tell you something. Despite getting so much success, you have lived your entire life in frustration. You have even criticised Dilip Kumar, Amitabh Bachchan, Rajesh Khanna, Shah Rukh Khan, and Virat Kohli, then I am sure I am in great company."

Kher said none of these stars had taken Shah seriously either.

"Because we know that this is not you talking but all the substances you’ve consumed for years. They’ve clouded your judgement of what is right and what is wrong," Kher added.

He said, "If criticising me gets you headlines for few days then am happy to gift the same to you. And you know what is there in my blood? It is Hindustan."

This comes after Shah in an interview had said: "Someone like Anupam Kher has been very vocal. I don’t think he needs to be taken seriously. He’s a clown. Any number of his contemporaries from NFD and FTII can attest to his sycophantic nature. It’s in his blood, he can’t help it.”

The two actors have shared the screen space in a highly critics' appreciated film 'A Wednesday.'
