The latest controversy began after author Freddy Birdy shared an Instagram post stating that "the world owes an apology to Hrithik Roshan."
Responding to the post, Hrithik distanced himself from social media narratives, saying people should wait for verified facts before taking sides.
"My friend, siding with 'A' just because you don't like 'B' anymore is a small part of the larger systemic issue plaguing our society. I'll wait, for when the context to it is the right one, and motivated by facts. That would be fair. But then again, who cares anymore, right?" he wrote.
His response quickly went viral, with many social media users linking it to his long-running dispute with Kangana.
Kangana's sharp response
Hours later, Kangana reacted through her Instagram Stories by sharing a report on Hrithik's remarks.
While saying she was happy that Hrithik had found love with actor Saba Azad, Kangana urged him to discourage those allegedly trolling her in his name rather than making comments that reignite the controversy.
"Dear Hrithik, I am happy that you have found your perfect match, Saba Azad... it doesn't suit you to tease a woman like this. Instead, you should condemn all those who are harassing and bullying me using your name. Stop adding fuel to the fire and embarrassing your partner. Hope better sense prevails and you stop making unreasonable comments," she wrote.
How the latest row began
The renewed exchange traces back to Kangana's recent remarks on student protests, which sparked an online spat with Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) spokesperson Saurav Das.
Responding to Kangana, Das joked that his friends believed she targeted him because he resembled a younger Hrithik Roshan.
The remark quickly turned into memes across social media, reviving discussions around Kangana and Hrithik's decade-old dispute.
Unverified viral meme fuels speculation
The controversy gathered further momentum after social media users claimed Hrithik had liked an Instagram meme mocking Kangana.
The speculation originated from a Reddit post featuring a screenshot that allegedly showed Hrithik's verified account liking the meme.
However, the original Instagram post was later deleted, and the alleged "like" could not be independently verified.
A feud that refuses to fade
Kangana and Hrithik's public dispute dates back to 2016, when Kangana referred to him as her "silly ex" during an interview.
Hrithik denied they had ever been in a relationship, triggering a prolonged legal battle marked by exchanged legal notices, conflicting public statements, and allegations involving emails and other communications.
