Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina wishes cricketers over victory against Australia

Mirpur, Aug 30 (IBNS): Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina met players and congratulated them after they defeated Australia in the first Test of the series by 20 runs here on Wednesday.

Hasina was present in the stadium, waving the

red and green flag in the stands, as cricketers clinched a historic victory and made some memorable moments for the nation at the Mirpur stadium.

Country's Press Secretary to the PM Ihsanul Karim said Hasina has congratulated the cricketers after the victory.

"She called the win an Eid gift for the people of the country," the Press Secretary said quoting the PM.

Bangladesh and Australia played a Test match after a long time.

David Warner scored a heroic 112 runs.
