BCCI congratulates Indian Women's and Men's teams for registering series win in T20Is
Mumbai, Jan 29 (IBNS): The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Friday congratulated both the Indian women's and men's team on registering series win the T20I bi-lateral series against Australia.
BCCI President, Shashank Manohar said, “India’s women cricket team has made the nation extremely proud with their terrific T20 International series victory against Australia. It is a tremendous feat to beat the reigning Twenty20 champions in their own backyard. I congratulate Mithali Raj and her team for displaying such brilliant performance.”
“Victories like this will not only boost the confidence of the team but also inspire thousands of young girls to take up the sport and spur the growth of women’s cricket in India. I would also like to congratulate MS Dhoni and his men for completing their own T20I series win over Australia with one match to go,” he added.
BCCI Secretary, Anurag Thakur said: “I extend my hearty congratulations to Indian women’s cricket team for clinching a historic T20 International series win over Australia. It is the first time in women’s cricket that India has won a bilateral T20I series against the Southern Stars, and captain, Mithali Raj can be very proud of what her team has achieved.”
“To make the occasion further special, India’s men team completed their own victory in the T20I series over Australia. This is indeed an occasion of celebration for Indian cricket fans,” he added.
