Moderna chief warns current vaccines might be less effective against Omicron variant

New York: Vaccine manufacturer Moderna chief has warned that the currently operating vaccines might be less effective against the Omicron strain of COVID-19 which was first believed to be detected in South Africa.

London: Moderna, Inc, a biotechnology company pioneering messenger RNA (mRNA) therapeutics and vaccines to create a new generation of transformative medicines for patients, on Monday said  its vaccine candidate against COVID-19 has shown 94.5 percent efficiency.
