West Bengal govt seeks Army help to control Darjeeling situation

Darjeeling/Kolkata, June 08 (IBNS) Amid violent protest and arson in the hills of Darjeeling by the Gorkha Janmukti Morcha (GJM) where West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee was chairing a state cabinet meeting, the state government has sought Army help to control the situation.

Darjeeling, Jun 8 (IBNS): Police had to resort to lathi-charge to disperse Gorkha Janmukti Morcha protesters in Darjeeling on Thursday when protesters allegedly set fire to three police vehicles, according to media reports.
