New Delhi: India on Thursday conducted a trial of its emergency alert system, reaching out to multiple smartphones through a test flash notification. The recipients of the message heard a loud audio beep on their devices, coupled with a visual message stating 'emergency alert: severe'.

Google is planning to challenge the Competition Commission of India's (CCI) order, asking to implement remedial measures to correct alleged abuse of its dominant position with respect to its Play Store policies and pay a penalty of Rs 936.44 crore, Reuters reported.
