Ample coal available to meet the demand of power plants: Coal Ministry

New York: Union Minister of Power, New and Renewable Energy R.K. Singh reviewed the coal stock position in all thermal power plants including those plants which are supplying power to distribution companies of Delhi.

New Delhi: Amid alarmingly low levels of coal stocks at power plants threatening to disrupt power supply, the Ministry of Coal and Coal India Ltd (CIL) on Saturday promised to increase the dispatch of coal to the power sector to 1.6 MT per day in next three days, thus reducing the gap between consumption and actual supply.
