Maharashtra cuts expenditures, says no to new hiring in fight against Covid-19

Mumbai/IBNS: Maharashtra, the worst-hit state by the deadly Covid-19 pandemic, on Tuesday took a slew of measures including cutting down of expenditures in various departments to combat the contagion, media reports said.

Guwahati, Apr 5 (IBNS): Assam Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday said that, the state has spent over 70 per cent of the total state budgetary provisions during the financial year 2017-18 which is slightly high compared to the previous fiscal.

Guwahati, Dec 13 (IBNS): Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, who vowed to end up VIP culture in the state after taking oath as the CM a year and six months back, has spent over 2.82 crore from the state exchequer for his helicopter tour and airlift expenditure in just four months, said reports.
