Bangladesh free to take a stand on Beijing's 'One China' policy based on its interests: Jaishankar

Bengaluru: External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar Saturday said that Bangladesh will naturally take a stance on Beijing's 'One China' policy considering its own interests but it is a very valuable partner and India is deeply committed to fostering a relationship with it.

India's support for 'One China' policy - an acknowledgement that there is only one Chinese government with no diplomatic recognition of Taiwan - is  a deterrent to burgeoning security and political cooperation between the two, according to panelists at a Roundtable on India's Taiwan policy.
