Tens of thousands of besieged Syrians receive food aid for first time, UN reports

New York, Aug 6 (IBNS) More people in besieged and difficult-to-reach areas of Syria are getting food due to a Security Council resolution approved last month that allows delivery trucks to more easily cross borders and conflict lines, the United Nations emergency food agency on Tuesday confirmed.

Washington, June 20 (IBNS) A senior United Nations relief official on Thursday highlighted the need for “courageous leadership” by the authorities in Mali to tackle the country’s political issues, warning that the already grave humanitarian situation is likely to deteriorate unless peace and stability are restored.
