Destination Germany continues to witness stable growth from India

Kolkata, Nov 30 (IBNS): The German National Tourist Office, India (GNTO) successfully concluded the 3rd of its 4 city roadshow in Kolkata. The event witnessed great interest from the travel trade in the city and saw the participation of 8 German partners.

The partners were thrilled to see the enthusiastic response from the travel fraternity in Kolkata.

The Roadshow which is an annual event, has been witnessing encouraging participation from the Indian trade over the years. The feedback received from the operators has helped the German Partners customize their products to better suit the Indian Travellers.

Romit Theophilus, Director Sales & Marketing, said, “Germany has recorded over 5,00,432 overnights from India for the period of January-August 2016 a growth of 4.4% over the same period last year."

"To keep with the changing times and traveler trends The German National Tourist Office in India launched its India Facebook Page in February 2016 www.facebook.com/germanytourism. Social Media has a growing impact on Traveler choices and decisions especially with regards to destination choice. We look forward to the Germany tourism Page becoming a hub for discussions relating to travel to Germany, sharing of itineraries, exciting travel finds in the country and lots more,” said Theophilus.

The core Marketing Theme for GNTO in 2016 has been “Germany- Holidays in the Heart of Nature”, further reinforced in the organization’s promotions and communication. The objectives of this year’s core campaign has to strengthen Germany’s image as a travel destination for Natural and scenic holidays.

Speaking on the occasion, Romit Theophilus, Director for India at The German National Tourist Office, India said, “Germany is a magnificent destination with a plethora of Scenic and natural landscapes to choose from. From the Zugspitze in the German Alps in the South, the Wadden Sea and the Coastal cities in the North to the Bastei Rock formations in the East, Destination Germany has something for everyone. What’s more, all this is available at a phenomenal price, making Germany a very lucrative holiday destination.”

The roadshow which was flagged off in Mumbai, witnessed the partners visiting the cities of Chennai and Kolkata, the series of workshops would be concluded in New Delhi.

The Workshops helped facilitate interactions between German partners and the Indian travel trade on latest offers, highlights and attractions for the Indian travelers.
