Jet Airways introduces widebody aircraft on additional domestic, international routes

Mumbai, Dec 26 (IBNS): Jet Airways, India's premier full service international airline, will introduce its wide-body Airbus A330 aircraft on certain additional domestic and international routes, thereby boosting capacity on other key sectors and extending guests, a superior onboard experience.

The aircraft will be deployed on the Mumbai-Kuwait-Mumbai and Mumbai-Jeddah-Mumbai routes, aside from Mumbai-Chennai-Mumbai and Mumbai-Bangalore-Mumbai legs on the airline’s domestic network.

While the wide-body service between Mumbai-Chennai-Mumbai is slated to begin from Sunday, January 15, 2017, the airline will commence its Mumbai-Jeddah-Mumbai and Mumbai-Bangalore-Mumbai services from January 16, 2017. The Mumbai-Kuwait-Mumbai wide-body service is scheduled to start from January, 18, 2017.

Deploying the wide-body Airbus A330 will enable Jet Airways to offer a luxurious and premium flying experience for guests - at par with global standards. Earlier this year, the airline began operating its Airbus A330s between Mumbai-Delhi and Delhi-Kolkata routes, expanding capacity as well as comfort for its guests flying the respective sectors.

With these upgrades, the airline will be able to offer its premium product across all metros from Mumbai to Delhi, Bangalore and Chennai, over and above Delhi to Kolkata.

Commenting on the wide body introductions, Jet Airways’ Chief Commercial Officer Jayaraj Shanmugam said, “The introduction of wide-body services on our key domestic routes not only allows Jet Airways to scale up capacity in response to increase in demand but also guarantees guests a superior flying experience. The A330, a state-of-the-art aircraft is designed with a spacious cabin, greater leg-room, lie-flat beds in Premiere and all the comforts usually associated with long-haul international travel. It enables us to deliver a world class flying experience and on-board service, making us the airline of choice for our guests.”

Guests flying ‘Premiere’ will experience Jet Airways’ famed, completely flat ‘beds in the sky’, while the ergonomically-designed Economy seats, providing greater legroom and a more spacious cabin, will guarantee a more enjoyable and relaxed flying experience.

Together with convenient schedules, the airline’s award-winning, exhaustive inflight entertainment, select and carefully-curated menu of fine dining options and its renowned onboard hospitality, travelling with Jet Airways will translate into a highly personalised and distinct experience, helping guests stay refreshed and rejuvenated upon arrival.

The wide body aircraft with its characteristic two-cabin configuration of 18 seats in Premiere and 236 in Economy will also increase capacity on the key routes by as much as 50 percent.
