Lemon Tree Hotels opens its first hotel in West Bengal

Siliguri, April 18 (IBNS): Lemon Tree Hotels, one of India’s popular hotel chains in the mid-priced hotel sector, on Wednesda,y announced the formal opening of its new hotel, Lemon Tree Hotel, Siliguri, marking its entry into West Bengal.

Carnation Hotels, the hotel management arm of Lemon Tree Hotels, will be managing this mid-scale hotel owned by Unitech Mercantile Private Limited.

Lemon Tree Hotels (LTH) is a mid-priced hotel sector chain, and the third largest overall, on the basis of controlling interest in owned and leased rooms, as of June 30, 2017, according to the Horwath Report.

The management agreement was signed by Rattan Keswani, Deputy Managing Director – Lemon Tree Hotels & Whole Time Director – Carnation Hotels Pvt. Ltd, and Binod Kumar Gupta, Co-promoter, Unitech Mercantile Private Limited.

Speaking on the occasion and about overall expansion plans across India, Keswani said, “We are delighted to add Lemon Tree Hotel, Siliguri, West Bengal to our mounting portfolio and look forward to welcoming our discerning guests here. This hotel opening brings us another step closer to our aim of becoming the fastest growing hotel chain in the country. This occasion marks a few firsts for Lemon Tree Hotels (through our management arm, Carnation Hotels) that will be operating in Siliguri.”

Lemon Tree Hotel, Siliguri is in close proximity to Bagdogra Airport which is just 13 km, and a 25 minutes' drive from the New Jalpaiguri railway station.

The hotel offers easy access to popular tourist places like Kalimpong (61 kms), Darjeeling (70 kms), Dooars (70 kms), Gangtok (108 kms) and more.

Parvez Gupta, co-promoter of Unitech Mercantile Pvt. Ltd. said, “This is the first hotel project undertaken by the company. With Lemon Tree Hotels as our partner, we are able to fill the gap for a good branded hotel in Siliguri.”

The 52-key hotel also includes a multi-cuisine coffee shop - Citrus Café, a rooftop grill area called Amilo, and the bar – Slounge.

It also has a fully equipped fitness center and 3000 sq.ft. of banquet space.

Lemon Tree Hotels operates 48 hotels in 30 cities with ~4900 rooms (as on March 31, 2018).
