20 elderly patients die after fire breaks out at nursing home in China

At least twenty people died after a fire erupted at a nursing home where several elderly people were present in China's Hebei Province, media reports said.

According to media reports, one person who was in charge of the nursing home has been arrested.

An investigation into the matter is currently underway.

A total of 39 elderly residents were living in the building when the blaze broke out at around 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Xinhua reported.

The fire was brought under control after two hours.

Nineteen people survived the blaze, and they were taken to the hospital for treatment.

January fire

Eight people died and 15 others were injured in January when a fire broke out in Hebei region in January.

2023 mishap

Twenty-nine people died in 2023 after a massive fire occurred at a private hospital in Beijing.
