At least four people were injured in a grenade attack at a mosque in Afghanistan's Aybak town on Friday, media reports said.

In a statement, the Taliban’s provincial police command said the explosion occurred at Jui Zindajan Mosque as worshippers gathered for prayers, reported AMU TV.

Taliban authorities, however, attributed the attack to a “personal dispute” between two residents of Samangan and people connected with the mosque.

The blast occurred at around 12:45 p.m. local time at Jui Zindajan Mosque, sources told the news channel.

Two people were arrested from the scene when they were trying to escape.

A shotgun was recovered from them.
