Kabul:  Parliamentarian Khan Mohammad Wardak was hurt in a car bomb blast in Kabul city of Afghanistan, media reports said on Sunday.

The blast rocked Spin Kalai Square of the 5th fifth police district.

The blast reportedly damaged nearby houses and even injured children, women and the elderly.

Quoting the Ministry of Interior (MoI) statement, Pajhwok Afghan News reported the enemies of Afghans conducted 37 suicide attacks and 510 explosions during the last three months, killing 500 civilians and wounding 1,050 others.

Noorullah Tarakai, deputy spokesman for the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH), told the news agency five dead bodies and eight wounded individuals had been evacuated to hospital so far.

Habibur Rahman Ibrahimi, a member of the Wardak Tribal Council, told Pajhwok Afghan news that Khan Mohammad was in stable condition at the Kabul Emergency Hospital but four of his bodyguards were in a critical situation.

No group has claimed responsibility for the incident so far.
