AirAsia plane returns to Australia after suffering technical fault
Flight D7237 took off for Malaysia at around 07:00 local time (00:00BST) on Sunday.
More than 300 passengers were onboard.
The decision to move back the plane to Perth was taken reportedly about one hour and 15 minutes into the flight.
"An AirAsia flight has been forced to turn back to Perth after an engine reportedly failed and an explosion was heard mid flight," The Sydney Morning Herald reported.
No casualty has been reported.
