Moscow,/Sputnik: All the hostages at a shopping mall in the Metro Manila area in the Philippines who had been taken hostage on Monday have been freed after a siege which lasted several hours.

According to reports a man who had formerly worked as a guard at the mall walked into the mall with a gun and took about 30 people hostage. Almost all of the hostages were reportedly working in the center. The gunman injured one person who was hospitalized.

The gunman identified as Archie Paray, had worked as a security guard at the man and had been fired from the job some time back. After taking the people hostage he demanded that his former employer at SASCOR Armor Security should stand down for dismissing him. Six company directors jointly resigned from their positions and apologized to the gunman for aggrieving him.Shortly after that Paray freed the hostage and was taken into custody by the police.
