Barack Obama to deliver farewell address on Jan 10

Washington, Jan 2 (IBNS): As his time in office comes to a close, US President Barack Obama will return to Chicago to deliver his farewell address on the evening of Jan 10.

Urging all US citizens to join him for the last time, Obama said: "Since 2009, we've faced our fair share of challenges, and come through them stronger. That's because we have never let go of a belief that has guided us ever since our founding -- our conviction that, together, we can change this country for the better."

Thanking his fellow countrymen for supporting him for 8 years, Obama said: "I'm just beginning to write my remarks. But I'm thinking about them as a chance to say thank you for this amazing journey, to celebrate the ways you've changed this country for the better these past eight years, and to offer some thoughts on where we all go from here."

Donald Trump, who won the US Presidency, will take on as the 45th President of the Unites States of America.
