Brazil: Massive fire destroys National Museum
Rio de Janeiro, Sept 3 (IBNS): A fire broke out at the National Museum of Brazil in Rio de Janeiro which left the 200-year-old structure destroyed, media reports said on Monday.
The National Museum is one of the largest natural history and anthropological museums in the country.
BREAKING: The National Museum of #Brazil in #Rio is completely consumed in fire. Founded in 1818, the museum is the holder of over 20 million items, including mummies, meteorites, insects, & fossils. So sad to see history in flames :(

Fire fighters are battling to bring the blaze under control.
The museum celebrated its 200-year anniversary this year.
There have so far been no reports of any injuries in Sunday's fire, reported BBC.
The full extent of the damage caused by the fire is still not clear.
