Canada: Assessment bill is a threat to the country's unity, says Alberta Premier
Edmonton, May 2 (IBNS): Alberta Premier Jason Kenney has said the environment assessment bill, if passed, will be a threat to Canada's unity, media reports said.
Kenney said the bill violates Alberta's constitutional rights to regulate natural resources.
The law establishes a new process to review major projects with a national scope, CTV News reported.
The federal Liberals believe it is important to restore confidence in the process of assessment.
Kenney will also meet his political rival and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
