Regina, Apr 7 (IBNS): Fourteen people have been killed as a bus carrying the junior hockey team crashed with a truck in Saskatchewan on Friday afternoon, media reports said.

Another 14 people have been injured.

The injured people, who have been rushed to a hospital, are in critical conditions.

The Humboldt Broncos hockey team was heading for a playoff game.

The collision took place on Highway 35 near Gronlid, which is couple of hundred kilometers away from Saskatoon.

Following the clash, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau tweeted, "I cannot imagine what these parents are going through, and my heart goes out to everyone affected by this terrible tragedy, in the Humboldt community and beyond."

Public Safety and Emergency Minister, Ralph Goodale, said on Twitter, "Major motor vehicle collision in Saskatchewan tonight is truly devastating. Sincere condolences to families and friends of the victims. First responders are on the scene doing everything possible to help. Love + prayers to all."

In a statement on Facebook, Saskatchewan premier said: "Words can not describe the loss that we feel tonight. The news I have heard is difficult to comprehend. Our province has always been one community. At our core, we are one small town, neighbours, friends and families."
