Toronto, July 31 (IBNS): Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has attended the funeral of victims of the Toronto mass shooting, which took place at the Danforth Avenue on July 22, media reports said.

The funeral took place at the Alexander the Great Parkette on Danforth Avenue in the city on Monday.

In an interaction with media, Trudeau spoke about the federal government's plan to introduce tougher handgun restrictions.

He has been quoted by CTV News as saying, "We are looking at a broad range of things. We’re going to make the right decisions for the long-term."

Trudeau even tweeted to say, "The people of Toronto have shown strength and resilience, and supported each other as a community. Torontonians - and all Canadians - stand together as we heal and move forward. #DanforthStrong"

Reese Fallon, 18, was one of the two people who were killed in the shooting.

Fallon, a high school graduate, was planning to study at McMaster University in the fall.

The other deceased was Julianna Kozis, a 10-year old girl. She was a resident of Markham, Ontario.

Thirteen others were injured in the shooting.

Ontario police watchdog Special Investigations Unit (SIU) has identified the man behind Sunday’s shooting rampage as Faisal Hussain, 29.

The police said Hussain was found dead, with a gunshot wound, after an encounter with officers.

Trudeau said he was honoured to attend the service.
