Canada PM Justin Trudeau meets French President Emmanuel Macron in New York

New York, Sept 26 (IBNS): Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on Wednesday met French President Emmanuel Macron as the two are presently in New York city to attend the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).

Trudeau and Macron had discussed shared priorities of the both the nations.

Tweeting a picture with the French President, Trudeau said: "Late-day meeting. Always a pleasure to see you @EmmanuelMacron, and talk about our shared priorities for Canada & France."

A day ago, Trudeau had hinted at the restart of UN charm offensive.

Trudeau shared the dais with members of the Council of Foreign Nations.

The Prime Minister was accompanied by Canadian Foreign Affairs Minister Chrystia Freeland and Trade Diversification Minister Jim Carr.

Freeland said the question of job retraining is the primary preoccupation of the federal government in Canada, CTV News reported.

She also said the federal government is committed to work together with all the Canadians, report said.
