Ottawa, Nov 26 (IBNS): Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has condoled the death of a four-year girl child, who was killed at the Santa Claus Parade on Saturday, media reports said.

The girl was killed by a float on Saturday.

As the girl was running alongside a parade float, she fell under it, reported CTV News.

RCMP Cpl. Dal Hutchinson has been quoted by CTV News as saying, "This is something that has a traumatic impact on everyone. Hundreds of people witnessed this event taking place. Small children were there. So we're encouraging people to talk to others about how they're feeling,”

Offering condolence, Trudeau tweeted, "Tonight I spoke with Yarmouth mayor @PamMood to offer my condolences to the entire community for this weekend’s tragedy at the town’s Santa Claus parade. As a parent, words fail at times like this. Our thoughts are with the family of the young victim, and with everyone affected."
