Chinese President Xi Jinping condoles of loss of lives in Indonesia tsunami

Beijing, Dec 25 (IBNS): Chinese president Xi Jinping on Tuesday sent a message to his Indonesian counterpart Joko Widodo over the tsunami tragedy which hit the nation and leftover 400 people killed.

In his message, Xi said that he was shocked at the news of the Tsunami, which has caused heavy casualties and huge property loss, reported Xinhua news agency of China.

On behalf of the Chinese government and the people, and in his own name, Xi offered deep condolences to the president and to the bereaved families, and expressed deep sympathy for those injured as well as the residents in the affected areas, said the report further.

The death toll in the tsunami-hitting incident in Banten and Lampung provinces of Indonesia touched 429, media reports said on Tuesday.

The tsunami hit the nation on Saturday.
