Drunk man stabs Indian roommate to death in Dubai

Dubai, Jan 13 (IBNS): A drunk man in Dubai city allegedly assaulted his Indian roommate and unintentionally caused his death, media reports said.

The incident occurred when the man was in an inebriated state.

According to a forensic expert, who examined the body, the cause of death was a deep stab wound in the chest, reported Khaleej Times.

"The victim was not under the influence of alcohol or drugs when he was stabbed," the expert said in his report as reported by the newspaper.

The Pakistani defendant, 37, who is in detention, has admitted that he had consumed alcohol before the incident occurred.

According to Khaleej Times report, as he stood trial at the Court of First Instance, he claimed he did not intend to kill the victim.

The incident occurred on Oct 1.

The trial in the case has been adjourned till Jan 27.
