Maldives Foreign Minister visits Bangladesh
Dhaka/UNI: Foreign Minister of Maldives Abdulla Shahid is scheduled to pay an official visit to Bangladesh on February 8-11, upon invitation of Foreign Minister of Bangladesh AK Abdul Momen.
During the visit, the two Foreign Ministers will hold a bilateral meeting on February 9, 2021, to discuss the issues of mutual interest covering the entire gamut of bilateral relations.
The Foreign Minister of Maldives is also expected to pay courtesy calls on the President and the Prime Minister of Bangladesh. The two Foreign Ministers will also witness the signing of an MoU on cooperation between the Bangladesh Foreign Service Academy and the Foreign Service Institute of Maldives.
Bangladesh and the Maldives share excellent bilateral relations, which have been strengthened over the years. Around 80,000 Bangladeshi expatriate workers are currently working in the Island country.
