Mike Pompeo to meet UN chief Antonio Guterres

Washington, Aug 19 (IBNS): US State Secretary Mike Pompeo is all set to join the UN Security Council meeting on the Middle East and meet UN chief Antonio Guterres on Aug 20, officials said.

Speaking on his upcoming meet with UN chief, Pompeo tweeted: "I look forward to visiting New York for the@UNSecurity Council debate on peace and security in the Middle East. I will be discussing ways the U.S. and UN can work together to forge solutions and combat global challenges with Secretary-General @antonioguterres."

Morgan Ortagus, the US State Department's spokeswoman, also informed on the social media about the meet and tweeted: "@SecPompeo
will travel to NYC to participate in a@UN Security Council debate on August 20 on challenges to peace & security in the Middle East. The Secretary will also meet with Secretary-General @antonioguterres and Serbian  resident @avucic."

The UNSC meeting will take place on Tuesday.
