Montreal celebrates 375th anniversary of its rich history
People of the city will have an opportunity to celebrate its iconic place and the neighbourhood.
A creation of Michel Lemieux and Victor Pilon, in collaboration with Michel-Marc Bouchard will take people back to Old Montreal where the city's past will start coming back to life on trees and buildings.
McCord Museum will organise a historical exhibition which will recount the stories of people throughout Montréal’s history and the unique characteristic of each of its neighbourhoods.
Montreal Museum of Fine Arts in partnership with the McCord Museum and Concordia and McGill Universities will organise a public art exhibition to bring together 67 works by renowned international artists.
The celebration will also occur on the big screens.
François Girard, director of the celebrated feature film The Red Violin, is all set to bring Montreal to the big screen. Terre des âmes will portray the transition of Hochelaga from First Nations time to the present days.
Espace Libre and the Nouveau Théâtre Expérimental will tell a story of a prominent figure, Camilien Houde, who was involved in politics in the city.
The loveable Paul, created by Michel Rabagliati will also be present in the city to celebrate its 375th anniversary. However, instead of appearing in the comic strip, he will be present on the streets.
