Negative PCR test must for people travelling to Spain
Madrid/IBNS: Visitors to Spain from countries with high risk of coronavirus infection have to produce a negative PCR test within 72 hours of their arrival, said the country's health ministry on Wednesday.
So far, Spain had not asked people coming from other countries to produce the PCR test result on arrival, said a Reuters report.
Spain's health minister said the country will follow European Union's criteria to define high risk countries, the report added.
The basic reference for classifying the high risk countries will be incidences per 100,000 locals in the last 14 days.
According to European Union's criteria, high risk countries are those where 150 cases have been diagnosed per 100,000 people in the course of 14 days, or those with more than 150 incidences per 100,000 and with more than 4 per cent of all tests with positive results.
Spain has less than 1.4 million cases of coronavirus, the second highest in Western Europe.
