'Nobody told me drinks party was against rules': UK PM Boris Johnson

| @indiablooms | Jan 19, 2022, at 01:42 am

London/UNI: British Prime Minister Boris Johnson on Tuesday denied that he had been warned that holding a drinks party in the No 10 garden amounted to breaking lockdown rules.

"Nobody warned me that it was against the rules," the prime minister said, adding: "I would have remembered that" BBC reported.

But Johnson's former aide Dominic Cummings has said that he had warned the PM at the time about the breaking of the lockdown rules and has accused him of misleading MPs about it.

When Johnson was asked if he would resign if he was found to have misled MPs, he said: "Let's see what the report says."

Sue Gray a senior civil servant is due to publish a report on the alleged breaking of Covid rules at lockdown get-togethers in Downing Street and government departments.
