Riyadh, Jan 27 (IBNS): US President Barack Obama on Tuesday arrived in Saudi Arabia to pay his respects to late king Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud's family members after ending his three-day visit to India.

After he landed in the Arabian land, the president was reportedly greeted by a military guard of honour and a cordon of black-robed Saudi officials wearing white or red checkered kaffiyehs.

The US President and his wife Michelle spoke with the new Saudi King Salman.

"In addition to paying respects to the family of Abdullah, who died Friday, the goal of the trip is for the president and his team to take Salman’s measure and, quietly at least, assess his health," The New York times reported.
