Pakistan blast: 4 labourers killed, 3 injured in Balochistan’s Mastung

At least four labourers were killed and three others injured after a blast struck Balochistan's Mastung district in Pakistan, media reports said on Saturday.

The incident took place late on Thursday night in the Garo area of Khud Kocha sub-tehsil, the same area where provincial Home Minister Zia Ullah Langove recently survived an armed attack.

Nine people, including six security guards, were injured in that attack last week.

Meanwhile, sources told Dawn that a blast occurred in the area late on Thursday night, killing four labourers and injuring three others.

“Four labourers lost their lives and three other people received injuries in the blast which took place last night,” a senior police officer in the area told the newspaper.

The nature of the explosive device remains unclear.

Another senior official, however, told Dawn that the incident was a drone attack. The official said the bodies of four labourers were recovered from the site, along with two other bodies bearing gunshot wounds.

The injured were taken to Nawab Ghous Bakhsh Memorial Hospital in Mastung for treatment.

“We have received six bodies and three injured in the hospital this morning,” a hospital official told Dawn, adding that two of the bodies had bullet wounds, while the other four had sustained multiple injuries.
