Pakistan: Jaffar Express, which was kidnapped earlier this year, targeted again with IED blast, six injured

At least six people were injured after Jaffar Express was targeted by an IED blast in Pakistan's Sultankot area, close to the Sindh-Balochistan border on Tuesday.

According to reports, suspected terrorists had planted the explosives on the track.

Multiple coaches of the train were derailed.

Six passengers, including a child, sustained minor injuries and were shifted to a hospital, Dunya News reported.

Authorities told the Pakistani media that the train was passing near Sultan Kot when the blast took place.

Rangers and police arrived at the scene immediately after the blast.

The bomb disposal squad has collected evidence to ascertain the exact nature of the explosive.

An investigation into the incident is currently underway.

The Jaffar Express has faced repeated suspensions in recent months due to security threats.

The BLA hijacked the train earlier this year, and in August the service was targeted in two separate attacks.
