Russian bomber crashes during training flight, 3 die

Moscow, Jan 23 (IBNS):  Three Russian bomber crew members died after their plane crash-landed in northwestern Russia’s Murmansk Region, media reports said on Wednesday.

The third pilot of the Tu-22M3 bomber that crash-landed in northwestern Russia’s Murmansk Region has died in a military hospital, a local emergency medicine center told TASS news agency.

One pilot was injured in the incident and he is undergoing treatment in the hospital.

"Two people died, one stayed at a military sick ward, and another is in intensive care in a hospital in Olenegorsk. The condition of the patient, who is in intensive care, is stably serious," an official spokesperson was quoted as saying by TASS.

As per the report published by the news agency, the Russian Defense Ministry said the bomber crash landed in a blizzard after a routine training flight in the Murmansk Region on Tuesday. The plane carried no weapons.

The Tupolev-22M3 is meant for attacking strategic targets.

The maximum speed of the 2,300 km per hour.
