Syria: Explosion reported in Qamishli
Damascus, Jun 17 (Xinhua): An explosion was reported in Syria's northeastern city of Qamishli Monday, with losses unknown, state news agency SANA reported.
The blast took place in the Qadour Beik Street in Qamishli, said the report.
It was caused by a car bomb, according to the preliminary investigation.
Meanwhile, Kurdish activists said the car bomb went off near a security headquarters of the Kurdish militia in control over parts of the city.
Parts of Qamishli are controlled by the government while other parts such as the aforementioned areas are controlled by the US-backed Kurdish groups.
Several explosions targeted the Qamishli city and were claimed by the Islamic State (IS).
