Trump slams restaurant which asked Sarah Sanders to leave

Washington, June 26 (IBNS): US President Donald Trump on Monday attacked the restaurant which recently asked White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders to leave because she worked and spoke for him.

The facility has been identified as Red Hen Restaurant.

"The Red Hen Restaurant should focus more on cleaning its filthy canopies, doors and windows (badly needs a paint job) rather than refusing to serve a fine person like Sarah Huckabee Sanders. I always had a rule, if a restaurant is dirty on the outside, it is dirty on the inside!," Trump tweeted.

The incident took place last week, following which Sanders tweeted that she was directed by authority of the Red Hen Restaurant to leave the place as she was working for President Trump.

"Last night I was told by the owner of Red Hen in Lexington, VA to leave because I work for @POTUS and I politely left. Her actions say far more about her than about me. I always do my best to treat people, including those I disagree with, respectfully and will continue to do so," she tweeted on Saturday.

The owner of the restaurant, Stephanie Wilkinson, told The Washington Post that several Red Hen employees are from the LGBTQ community and Sanders had defended Trump’s desire to bar transgender people from the military.

Earlier this month, they had all watched her evade questions and defend a Trump policy that caused migrant children to be separated from their parents, the daily reported.

Wilkinson said that her staff answered in the affirmative after she suggested that she could ask Sanders to leave.

She said her staff were uncomfortable serving a member of the administration allegedly unfriendly to the LGBTQ people.

According to her, she took Sanders aside and asked her to leave the restaurant.

Sanders and others were not charged for the food which was served to them before leaving.
