US midterm polls: Tight race in Senate with Democrats' projected Pennsylvania win, Republicans lead in House

| @indiablooms | Nov 09, 2022, at 06:32 pm

A close contest prevails in the battle for the Senate with the Democrats being projected to win the key Pennsylvania state as the results for the US midterm elections are coming out on Wednesday.

Dressed in a black hoodie, Democrat John Fetterman made his public appearance after the Pennsylvania projection declaring, "We held the line".

Fetterman also vowed to work for the state which posed faith in the Democrats.

Despite the Republican scare in the midterm elections where economy and inflation were projected as the main issues by the exit poll, the Democrats are believed to have performed better than expected.

However, the weight is more on the Republicans when it comes to the House of Representatives where the party is maintaining a steady lead over the Democrats.

If the Democrats lose in either of the houses, the scenario will enable the Republicans to block President Joe Biden's agendas.

In the contest of the Governors, Republicans Brian Kemp and Ron DeSantis have won in Georgia and Florida respectively.

Result Update

Senate: Democrats- 48, Republicans- 47
House: Republicans- 197, Democrats- 172
