New Delhi: IndiaAI, the Independent Business Division (IBD) under the Digital India Corporation, has announced the opening of nominations for its fellowship program, inviting applications from B.Tech and M.Tech students working on Artificial Intelligence (AI) projects.

The fellowship aims to provide additional support to students already receiving other fellowships, covering the duration of their AI-focused projects.

The deadline for nominations is set for September 30, 2024.

Students may submit their nominations on - https://indiaai.gov.in/article/proforma-for-submission-of-nominations-for-indiaai-fellowship-under-the-indiaai-mission  as per the prescribed guidelines by 30th September 2024.

B.Tech students will be eligible for one year of fellowship support, while M.Tech students can receive support for up to two years.

Interested candidates can submit their applications through the official IndiaAI portal following the prescribed guidelines.

In a related development, IndiaAI is also inviting the top 50 research institutes ranked by the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) to participate in the IndiaAI Fellowship for PhD scholars.

These institutes are asked to confirm their participation by agreeing to intake new PhD students researching AI who are not receiving any other form of scholarship or salary at the time of enrollment.

Institutes must submit their official approval on letterhead, signed by the institute’s head, to Kavita Bhatia, Sci ‘G’ & GC (AI & ET), via email by September 30, 2024.

The final selection of fellowship candidates will be based on the eligibility criteria, the relevance of the research proposal, the student’s profile, and the availability of fellowships at the national level.

IndiaAI is a part of the Ministry of Electronics and IT (MeitY). It aims to democratize AI across various sectors, strengthen India’s global leadership in AI, and promote responsible and ethical use of AI technologies.
