Mumbai/IBNS: Well-known musician and tabla player, GiMA award winning Pt Prodyut Mukherjee, regaled guests with his mastery over ‘tabla’ and ‘mouth percussion’ at the third edition of the International Performing Arts Festival (IPAF) held in Mumbai.

The third season of the festival consisted of performances ranging from fusion music to Indian classical music and dance.

On day one (10 June) of the IPAF festival, Pt Mukherjee and his team Rhythm Express paid a musical tribute to freedom fighters.

The team consisted of M Rashid Khan (violin), Supratik (vocal), Dharmesh Maru (keys), Monicka Shuklla (narration).

The programme also included Bharatnatyam by Tushar Pramod Sawant.

The day two of the festival featured a grand celebration of Ritu Rang (Seasons in India) presented by a 75-member strong Arpana Rao and group.

Sajid Nadiadwala, Abhijeet Bhattacharya, Sudesh Bhosale, Lalit Sen and others attended the programme on the second day.

IPAF has been started by Shyam Pandey, a social entrepreneur, with an aim to create a centralized global network to provide a consistent platform to artists as well as financial assistance to them through these programmes.

Founder-Director of IPAF, Pandey, expressed his admiration for the musical wizardry of Pt Mukherjee and said, “IPAF is already working in 25 states of India and adding five global cities this year."

The second leg of the programme this year will be held in Kolkata on June 23 and 24 followed by the Delhi edition in July.

At the Kolkata edition, IPAF will launch its first Lifetime Achievement Award and Youth Icon Award, where the awards will be given away by West Bengal governor Dr C.V. Ananda Bose.
