Mumbai, Aug 31 (IBNS): Jabong presented 'Sangria' its in-house label, a remarkable blend of ethnicity with modernity, that delighted the audience with vibrant ensembles at the Jabong Stage during Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2015.
Divided into three multi-hued collections, the display was a colourful mélange of creations to suit the many moods of the wearer.
“The Rang” segment that recreated the spell of the old world traditional charm wrapped in a modern avatar; was a head turning line.

The bright shades that defined the Indian culture such as radiant red, tulip yellow and the envious green were intelligently contradicted by black that uplifted the rural palette. Colour inspiration was taken from the joyous land of Kutch, while the ‘phulkari’ motif belonged to the pride of Punjab. The tie-n-dye technique and the Bandhani fabric being the major jewels of Indian heritage; were re-launched with an incredibly innovative approach.
In “The Nritaya” group, there were botanic prints woven carefully into traditional fabrics, which were ideal to keep up with the cozy weather. Interesting woven prints were teamed with ikat designs, while the dangling tassels and intricate beading created tastefully, held the audience attention as the models strutted down the runway. The elements as a whole were portrayed effortlessly, making the entire fusion look timeless.
“The Mahotsav’’ element showcased vibrant Indian attire like Patiala suits and the red mirror work, cropped top paired with a Bandhani pocketed lehenga. A floor length yellow anarkali with subtle embroidery and tassels looked elegant on the runway.
The glamorous B-town actress Ileana D’Cruz graced the ramp in a floor length black bandgala jacket styled with a stone encrusted belt, paired with a floral skirt and an elaborate gold head piece.
Executing the grace and elegance of rural India with a range of dreamy silhouettes, ‘Sangria’ presented by Jabong, portrayed a great collection for trendy modern women.
