Jammu's Shilpa Chaku Handoo crowned Mrs India Universal 2023 title

Jammu: Jammu Woman Shilpa Chaku Handoo has won the national beauty pageant - Mrs India Universal 2023 hosted by Dreamz Production House at Film City, Noida.

Itee Raj from Lucknow won the first runner up position while Pooja Pandita from Faridabad bagged second runner-up title.

The grand finale was judged by Former Miss India and Bollywood actress Neha Dhupia, Youth icon Prince Narula, Celebrity Makeup Artist Bhumika Bhal and Anubha Vashisht, Sophiya Singh amongst others.

The event was an exciting platform for the talent across the country as the pageant team visited over 20 cities to audition contestants.

A handout issued here on Sunday said that drawing a staggering number of approximately 100 participants from all corners of India, the show featured contestants competing in various categories, including Mr, Miss, and Mrs.

As part of their recognition, the winners were presented with gift hampers and offered a plethora of exciting opportunities, such as participation in video songs, web series, print shoots, designer showcases, and reality shows.

Mrs Handoo, mother of a 12-year-old is presently working in the University of Jammu as Training and Placement Officer.

She completed her schooling from Jammu and later completed her Engineering and MBA from Kurukshetra University.

She is now focused to complete her Ph. D. Expressing her gratitude, an elated Shilpa stated, “I am incredibly grateful to my well-wishers, supporters, and family for their unwavering support, which has given me the strength, courage, belief, and determination to overcome numerous challenges and achieve success.”

Neha Dhupia said “The effort of Dreamz Production House is commendable and we need more such platforms to provide opportunity to every budding talent in India. I know it takes a lot of hard work but in the end, it’s completely worth it. While the show had few winners, it will give a platform to many of them who will rule the ramp in future.”
