Kolkata tram gets a makeover as a fashion-on-wheels venture by fbb
Kolkata, Sep 12 (IBNS): With Durga Puja knocking on Kolkata's doors, fbb chose to introduce the world’s first ‘Glam-Tram’, a fashion-on-wheels which transforms the good old tram into a fashion store on wheels, as a festive surprise.
The ‘Glam-Tram’ collection was unveiled by Bollywood actress Mouni Roy; she herself was wearing an Indian ethnic wear from the new Puja Collection by fbb.
Also present were Rakesh Biyani, Joint MD, Future Retail Ltd, Rajesh Seth, COO fbb, Manish Agarwal, zonal CEO East, West Bengal Minister Sovandeb Chattopadhyay, MLA Vaishal Dalmiya, Director of Tranportation, Sujit Bose and Debasish Kumar, MMIC, Parks and Gardens, Sports Advertisement & Parking Car.
The ‘Glam-Tram’ was unveiled at Nonapukur tram depot at Mallick Bazaar, Kolkata.
The organisers showcased their Pujo collection through a fashion show .
Said Rakesh Biyani, “Every year at fbb we try to do something different during the Pujas. This year when we were coming up with the new collection we decided to do something different, when we thought of the tram. We knew it would be difficult but we went with it and now finally the collection and the tram both are here. This is the first time any company has done something like this; I the people of Kolkata also enjoy it.”
On selecting the tram for the collection he said, “Nothing is more historic in this city as the tram, so it fitting that for an occasion like Durga puja we transform the tram into a fashion destination.”
Mouni Roy whose debut film ‘Gold’ recently crossed the 100-crore mark at the box office expressed her delight at getting an opportunity to come to Kolkata.
On being the face of this historic collection, she said, “I feel great to be here, because it is Kolkata and the city is very close to my heart. After being inside the tram, which is the world’s first glam-tram, I think the collection is the perfect blend of traditional and stylish and old-school and chic-casual, this collection is perfect for the pujo, I am positive the Kolkata crowd will love it and Happy Pujo to all of you.”
Big Bazaar is the flagship hypermarket retail chain from Future group and fbb is the the lifestyle store of Big Bazaar.
The tram will travel across the city for 45 days starting from September 10.
