Manobi Bandyopadhyay to become India's first transgender college principal

Kolkata, May 27 (IBNS): India is likely to get its first transgender college principal as Manobi Bandyopadhyay is set to take charge of Krishnagar Women's College in West Bengal from next month.

She is currently working as an Associate Professor at Vivekananda Satobarshiki Mahavidyalaya in the state.

She wrote on her Facebook page: "Congratulations .... U have hit the headlines in The Times of India " sms of my students Proteek Dey ( Now he is a Buisness Adminstrator ) in early morning."

Bandyopadhyay has been congratulated by several people over her new job.

Congratulating the professor, one Sumit Das wrote on her Facebook page: "Manobi congrats, as India's first transgender Principle."

Another Debabrata Sen posted: "Congratulations Manobi di."

"Congratulation Manobidi to be the first Transgender Principal in India," wrote another netizen Pampa Deb.
