MTV Bollyland's Kolkata chapter gets underway

Kolkata, May 2(IBNS) MTV Bollyland, MTV’s latest venture is all about Bollywood music fused with electronic beats.

The Kolkata edition was managed by Buzz 365 Entertainment at Nicco Park (Big Lawn) on Saturday.


The lineup consisted of Atif Aslam, Kanika Kapoor, DJ Anshul and DJ Chetas.

Faizan Khurshid, a local resident started off the event by singing ‘Kahin To’ from ‘Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na’.

Kanika Kapoor who shot to fame last season with her single ‘Baby Doll’ from the movie ‘Ragini MMS’ hit a perfect chord with ‘Balam Pichkari’. The crooner had the crowds enthralled as she dished out hits one after the other. ‘Dama Dam Mast Kalandar’, ‘Lovely’, ‘Chhil Gaye Naina’, ‘Desi Look’ soon followed. She signed off by singing her latest chart topper ‘Chitiyan Kalaiyan’.

DJ Anshul followed Kapoor. He belted out a series of fusion music ranging from retro Hindi music to latest western songs. DJ Chetas replaced him, playing groovy Bollywood beats.

The Concert reached its crescendo when Atif Aslam took the stage. The Pakistani singer and actor entertained one and all by singing his chart toppers.

The audience braved the downpour to groove to ‘Meri Kahaani’, ‘Jeena Jeena’, ‘Tu Jaane Na’, ‘Tere Liye’ and other popular tracks.
