Hyderabad/IBNS: The Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) under the Indian government's Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology has recently issued a high-severity warning regarding critical vulnerabilities affecting various Android components, reports said.

According to reports, these flaws put user data and devices at risk.

CERT, in the alert issued on May 13, mentioned, "Multiple vulnerabilities have been reported in Android which could be exploited by an attacker to obtain sensitive information and gain elevated privileges on the targeted system."

Explaining the issue, CERT said these vulnerabilities exist in Android due to flaws in the Framework, System, Google Play system updates, Kernel, Kernel LTS, Arm components, MediaTek components, Qualcomm components and Qualcomm closed-source components.

The government agency has advised Android users to apply appropriate updates and security updates when made available.
